Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to present state budget today; schemes for farmers likely to be announced

Ahead of the state elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be presenting the state budget today. This after the Finance Minister of State Amit Mitra is unwell and asked the government to consider this proposal. Mamata Banerjee is also expected to announce schemes for farmers. Amit Mitra wrote a letter to the State governor and also to the State Assembly Speaker, requesting them to consider his situation. The state budget comes in close heels with the Union Budget which has been heavily criticized by the party for being Anti-farmers, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee is focusing on schemes for farmers, which would promote farmers and their interests.
