New Delhi, Mar 15 (ANI): Delhi Special Cell DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who led a team during the 2008 Batla House encounter called the Delhi court’s judgement on the case a “real” tribute to Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma who lost his life in the encounter. He said, “It's a very good judgement and will boost the morale of police and the team involved in the encounter. It is a real tribute to Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma who lost his life in the encounter.” On politics over Batla House encounter, DCP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said, “Politics surrounding this matter didn't affect us much as we focused on our investigation. Our senior officers tackled pressure whenever any such issue came up and didn't let the pressure reach us.” While remembering Inspector Mohan Chandra Sharma who lost his life in the 2008 Batla House encounter, DCP Sanjeev Yadav said, “I worked with him for over 4 years. He was a very professional officer and losing him was our loss. It is a matter of relief that his killer has been awarded the death penalty.” The sessions court, while giving the judgement on March 15, called the Batla House encounter case “rarest of rare” and pronounced death penalty to convict Ariz Khan. He got arrested on February 2018.
