Barkha Dutt Gets 'Dick Pic' on WhatsApp, Trolled For Sharing Image & Details of Sender on Twitter

Barkha Dutt had registered an FIR on February 21 stating that she was receiving threatening phone calls, messages and nude images including dick picture on WhatsApp.

New Delhi, February 18: After senior journalist Barkha Dutt shared details of a person who sent a nude picture to her, she was trolled. Dutt also shared the image sent by the person oh her twitter handle. The move of sharing the nude picture did not go down well with Twitter. In her latest tweet, she claimed, “Apparently @Twitter wants to punish me for sharing the numbers of the men who are giving me death threats, sending me dick pictures and harassing me. Talk about being tone deaf on gender equality. Soon after sharing the details and the dick picture which she received on her mobile, she trolled by netizens. In her tweet, Dutt not only shared the number of the person and the dick picture, but also claimed that the accused belonged to right wing ideology. The senior journalist tweeted. “I am sorry to have to share this on twitter. But this number is sending me nude pictures of his genitals in the name of Nationalism @IPSMadhurVerma”

Yesterday too, Dutt was trolled on Twitter for retweeting former BJP MP Tarun Vijay’s post saying “my doors are open to all patriotic Indians” after a few schools and colleges reportedly announced that they wouldn’t enrol Kashmiri students in light of the Pulwama terror attack. Later at Sunday night, she closed general access to her direct messages on Twitter, saying, “Sorry friends, closing my DMs to general access now. Its been unfortunately hijacked by the abusive mob and they have shown themselves up to be the scum that they are. Thanks for the few sane messages that managed to filter through.” She also tweeted to Delhi Police informing them of the harassment that she was facing.

Meanwhile, former Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student leader Shehla Rashid was booked by the Uttarakhand police for allegedly spreading fake news of Kashmiri girls being trapped inside a hostel room in Dehradun in the aftermath of Pulwama terror attack on February 14 in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred. A case against Shehla Rashid is registered at Prem Nagar police station under Sections 505, 153 and 504 of Indian Penal Code.
