Bank manager, cashier arrested on bribery charges in Rajasthan's Dausa

Jaipur, Apr 6 (PTI) A senior manager and a chief cashier of a public sector bank were arrested in Rajasthan's Dausa district on Tuesday while accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000, an Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) official said here.

The accused senior manager, Ramchandra Meena, posted at the Manpur branch of the bank, had demanded Rs 6,000 as bribe for approving a loan of Rs 80,000, he said.

The accused had disbursed Rs 70,000 of the loan amount to the complainant and kept Rs 10,000 on hold, Director General of Police, ACB, B L Soni said in a statement.

Soni said chief cashier Deepak Kumar Khandelwal took Rs 1,000 from the complainant for releasing the amount, following which he was also arrested.

Residences of both the accused are being searched, and a case has been registered under sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, the officer said. PTI AG IJT
