Bangalore news LIVE: Fire breaks out at UCO Bank in MG Road; over 200 people evacuated, no casualties reported

Bangalore, Karnataka news LIVE today: Fire broke out in UCO bank in MG Road Wednesday afternoon. Fire-tenders were rushed to the spot after which firefighters rescued over 200 people who were stranded in the building. No casualties are reported so far.

Meanwhile, demanding the immediate release of funds for relief and rehabilitation for victims of Karnataka floods, Congress leaders gathered together in Vidhana Soudha Wednesday afternoon. In the protest held near the Gandhi statue in the premises, leaders raised slogans against the state, central governments for "neglecting the victims."

At the same time, senior Congress leader and former MP Mallikarjun Kharge criticised the Narendra Modi-led government saying various central agencies were misused to target the opposition. "The government is simply using CBI and ED to target leaders from the Congress party, which is highly condemnable," he said on Wednesday.
