The key accused in the Ballia murder case has been arrested. He is the aide of the BJP MLA who was caught on camera firing rounds at a 46-year-old and killing him in broad daylight.
For three days, he evaded the law, but now he has been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh Police, Dhirendra Singh, from Lucknow.
Dhirendra Singh and others have been accused of shooting a man dead during a meeting for allotment of shops under government quota in Durjanpur village in Ballia.
Despite a video surfacing on social media where Dhirendra could be purportedly seen firing shots, Bariya BJP MLA Surendra Singh has been vehemently defending the accused saying he fired shots in self-defence and making controversial comments against the police investigation.
