Assam Principal Secy denies accusation by Mizoram Police of dismantling makeshift camps at border

Guwahati (Assam), July 03 (ANI): Speaking on the prevailing tension along the Mizoram-Assam border, Niraj Verma, Principal Secretary, Govt of Assam said, “The forest department has reacquisition for the police force so that they can do the patrolling. Patrolling is a normal thing. The forest department did the patrolling in the area without crossing the area. Nowadays it is very clear. You have a GPS. They found that there was a makeshift in the form of encroachment. There cannot be encroachment as ordered by the Supreme Court. So the home department, police department are helping them to do their normal work”. Two makeshift camps erected by Mizoram police on the disputed area were damaged by Assam police during a confrontation on Thursday.
