Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma’s statement on population control & family planning rakes controversy

Assam’s new Chief Minister Himanta Kumar Biswa has stated that the minority community should adopt a decent family planning policy for population control. As Assam’s new government completes 30 days. According to the Chief Minister, all stakeholders in the community must come forward and support in helping reduce poverty in the community which is primarily due to an unabated increase in population. On the other hand, the statement has sparked another controversy where the lutyens lobby says that this policy targets Muslims.
