Itanagar, Jun 6 (PTI) At least 327 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, which pushed the tally to 29,113, while the toll rose to 123 with a fresh fatality, a senior health department official said on Sunday.
A 39-year-old man from Lohit district, who was suffering from COVID pneumonia and hypertension, died on his way to a hospital in Assam, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
Of the 327 fresh cases, 305 were detected through rapid antigen test, 13 via RT-PCR and nine with the help of TrueNat, he said, adding that 110 people have symptoms.
The Capital Complex region recorded the highest number of fresh cases at 77, followed by Lohit at 43, Tawang at 39, East Kameng at 29 and Upper Subansiri at 25.
Accordingly, the number of active cases in the frontier state climbed to 3,753.
As many as 402 people recuperated from the disease on Saturday, taking the total number of recoveries to 25,237.
The recovery rate stands at 86.69 per cent and the positivity rate at 4.16 per cent, Jampa said.
Altogether, 6,24,422 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the state so far, including 7,853 on Saturday, the SSO maintained.
State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung, on his part, said 3,77,924 people have been administered the COVID-19 vaccine since the inoculation drive began in January.
The frontier state, as on June 4, has a total of 1,40,890 doses in its stock, of which 1,20,950 have been supplied by the Centre and 19,940 purchased by the state government from Serum Institute of India, Dr Padung stated.
Meanwhile the state government, in an order issued on Saturday, has extended total lockdown in Tawang and Upper Subansiri districts by seven more days, till June 12, amid the relentless surge in COVID-19 cases. PTI UPL RMS RMS
