Sydney, Dec 30(ANI): Australia coach Mickey Arthur has claimed the controversial rotation policy has added depth to their squad, believes resting players with dangerous workloads will ensure more fit players more often, which would mean more victories.
Arthur said managing Australia players has been the uppermost thoughts in their minds especially considering the amount of cricket the players are playing these days.
Mitchell Starc will play the third Test against Sri Lanka in Sydney and is expected to replace Boxing Day debutant Jackson Bird.
Arthur said it was good to see Jackson Bird step up and perform, and added it just puts another guy in that pool, another guy who was exposed to Test cricket, another guy who knows what it's all about,
The South Africa-born coach said there are no negative effects of the rotation policy and every bowler should be fine with it.
Australia beat Sri Lanka by an innings and 201 runs inside three days with Mitchell Johnson man of the match for his hostile bowling and brilliant batting after being 12th man for the first Test in Hobart. (ANI)
