Jaipur, Apr 3 (PTI) In a first-of-its-kind exercise in Rajasthan, the Army has organised a four-week orientation training in disaster relief operations in chemically-contaminated environment for the state SDRF units.
“Approximately 100 members of the SDRF are being introduced to the basics of CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear) environment and familiarised with the Individual Protective Equipment (IPE) and detection instruments during the training,” Defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Ojha said today.
“Mock exercises are being conducted to rehearse the State Disaster Response Force personnel’s response during disaster relief operations in CBRN contaminated environment,” he said.
The four-week training began at Kota and Bikaner Military stations on March 27.
