"Search operation for the third terrorist is on. The identity of the terrorist is being ascertained, the material found points likely towards foreign terrorists," the army told ANI.

The army further asserted that only after recovering one additional AK-47, had they concluded that a third terrorist was also with them.

"Two terrorists who were killed earlier in the day, their identities and search operations are in progress. Only after recovering one additional AK-47, that indicates the presence of a third terrorist with them, who is absconding," added the army.

Around 4.40 a.m, the terrorists entered the Kupwara Army camp from the rear side of the firing range. They had also cut the fence and reached the officer complex area, sources said.
