Arms Laying Down ceremony held in Guwahati by five militant outfits

Guwahati (Assam), Feb 23 (ANI): Arms Laying Down ceremony was held in Guwahati by members of five militant outfits on February 23. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal graced the occasion as the chief guest of the event. A total of 1040 members joined the mainstream during the ceremony. The five militant groups include, PDCK (People's Democratic Council of Karbi Longri), KLNLF( Karbi Longri N.C Hills Liberation Front), KPLT( Karbi People's Liberation Tiger) KLF(Kuki Liberation Front) and UPLA (United People's Liberation Army). Rehabilitation of these members who have joined the mainstream is being done under the revised Rehabilitation Scheme for Northeast militants as introduced by the government.
