Sachin Tendulkar, on Wednesday, took to Twitter urging the social media giants to take action against a fake profile which was impersonating his son Arjun.

"I wish to clarify that my son Arjun & daughter Sara are not on Twitter. The account @jr_tendulkar is wrongfully impersonating Arjun and posting malicious tweets against personalities & institutions. Requesting @TwitterIndia to act on this as soon as possible."

After Tendulkar’s reported the matter, Twitter was prompt in its action and suspended the account.

The fake account with the handle @jr_tendulkar used Arjun's photograph as the profile picture. “Official. Left Arm Medium Pacer. Son of God," read in the bio.

Tendulkar's response might resulted when a tweet was sent out from the handle which contained the hashtag, "#IamWithDevendra", referring to the political drama unfolding in Maharashtra.

This may very well be the malicious tweet that Sachin may be talking about in his statement.

This is not the first instance when Tendulkar's children have faced harrasment.

In January 2018, a 27-year-old man from East Midnapore district in West Bengal was arrested for allegedly harassing cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter, Sara, over phone.
