24 May 2019: Apple WWDC 2019 scheduled for June 3: What to expect
The keynote address is scheduled to kick off at 10am PDT (10:30pm IST) at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.
During the event, Apple is expected to announce its next-generation software: iOS 13, macOS 10.15, and watchOS 6.
Here are the details.
Highlight #1: iOS 13: For iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch
As leaks have suggested, iOS 13 will arrive with a system-wide dark mode, swipe-to-type support in the native keyboard, and new gestures for undo and redo actions.
The new OS will introduce a revamped volume heads-up display icon in the control panel, new animations, and redesigned widgets.
Apple will also update the iMessage, Reminder, and Health apps while improving multitasking functions on the iPad.
Highlight #2: macOS 10.15: For MacBooks, iMac and other Mac devices
There have not been many leaks around macOS 10.15, hence the information is scarce. However, we do know that Apple will focus on Marzipan-the company's cross-platform initiative which makes it easier for developers to create apps for both Mac and iOS devices.
Additionally, we expect improvements in iMessage app, integration with Siri Shortcuts app, new Music app and upgrades to Apple Books.
Fact: Apple is also expected to launch a new Mac Pro
According to some reports, Apple is likely to launch a revamped Mac Pro desktop computer which will replace 2013's model. Further, a new external monitor with HDR support is also on the cards.
Other highlights: watchOS 6 for Apple Watch and tvOS for Apple TV
Apple will reportedly add App Store on the Apple Watch via its all new watchOS 6. The software, dedicated to the wearable, is also said to bring Voice Memos app, Apple Books app, Animojis and Memojis support, new watch faces and two new health-related apps.
Moreover, we also expect some announcements regarding tvOS which powers the Apple TV.
