Loolhe langdon ko kaam pe rakha hai, UP minister mocks disabled man in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh textile minister Satyadev Pachauri is seen in a video questioning officials of his department over employing a disabled man.

During his monthly radio address - Mann Ki Baat - in December last year had said that physically-challenged people have a 'divine ability' and the term divyaang should be used in place of viklang for them. However, a leader of his party, who is also a minister in Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath government seems to care little about PM Modi's advice.

Uttar Pradesh textile minister Satyadev Pachauri was on a inspection visit to his department in Lucknow. During his interaction with the officials, Pachauri spotted a disabled man. He enquired the man about what work he does in the department.

The man told the minister he works as cleaner. Hearing his reply, the minister turned towards the officials and said," Loolhe langdon ko kaam pe rakha hai (You have employed a crippled, what work he will do?)"

Pachauri, who represents Kanpur's Govind Nagar seat in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, also is also heard asking about the salary the man gets.

Both PM Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have time and again highlighted their motto of 'sabka saath, sabka vikas.' It remains to be seen what action CM Adityanath takes against his minister for his shameful act.
