Anti-drone technology developed by DRDO to identify and eliminate aerial threats

Counter-drone technology developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) could provide the armed services an advantage in detecting, intercepting, and destroying enemy drones. This anti-drone device uses a laser-based kill mechanism to detect and destroy drones in the air. This DRDO-developed anti-drone system was previously used to defend VVIPs during Independence Day 2020, US President Donald Trump's visit to Ahmedabad's Motera stadium, and Republic Day 2021. This device can identify and jam micro drones up to 3 kilometers away and shoot laser signals at targets up to 1-2.5 kilometers away. There will also be a drone policy for India soon.
