Anti-Corruption Unit raids CBI officials for fraud, bribery and corruption

On Thursday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) carried out raids at different places, looking for corruption and bribery by its own officials, reports said.

Times Now has reported that the CBI Anti-Corruption Unit is conducting raids on officials suspected of taking bribes and favours from those allegedly involved in cases of back fraud. The report claimed that 3-4 serving CBI officials are being looked for.

The central investigative agency investigates numerous incidents of bank fraud, including possible misappropriation of funds. In 2020 alone, the CBI reported about 190 instances of bank fraud in 2020, involving alleged misappropriation of nearly Rs 60,000 crore,
