Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests BDO in Jharkhand

(Eds: Correcting spelling in headline, minor changes in intro, para 2) Medininagar, Feb 13 (PTI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested a Block Development Officer (BDO) while allegedly accepting bribe in Jharkhand's Palamu district, an official said.

The BDO of Hariharganj, Jago Mahato, was arrested by ACB sleuths on Friday when he was allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 7,000 from a man who had sought the official's help for allowing him to carry out construction work, he said.

The ACB had laid a trap to arrest Mahato after a complaint was received that he was demanding bribe, the official said. PTI COR IKD RG MM MM
