Another strike on Pakistan, says Amit Shah after India destroy Pakistan in World Cup 2019
Political leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and others congratulated the country's cricket team after India inflicted a humiliating 89-run defeat on their arch-rivals Pakistan in the 2019 ICC World Cup match.
Amit Shah took to Twitter to react to the much-hyped match and called it India's yet "another strike on Pakistan". He went on to add that every Indian is proud of the impressive win.
"Another strike on Pakistan by #TeamIndia and the result is same. Congratulations to the entire team for this superb performance. Every Indian is feeling proud and celebrating this impressive win. #INDvPAK," Amit Shah tweeted.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also applauded captain Virat Kohli-led team's "amazing performance" against Pakistan. "Congratulations to Indian cricket team for winning the match against Pakistan in #CWC2019. The Indian team played an amazing game of cricket for this victory. We are all proud of Team India," Rajnath Singh posted on Twitter.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Sports Kiren Rijiju tweeted: "I had already said that India would emerge victoriously, Pakistan would lose. Well done boys. Congratulations!"
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari wrote, "Well played team India. Congratulations for a spectacular win. Jai Hind!"
Railways Minister Piyush Goyal also extended wishes to the captain Virat Kohli-led team and said, "Congratulations to Team India for another stunning victory against Pakistan in the CWC 2019. I wish our men in blue all the luck in their march towards the coveted World Cup."
Meanwhile, newly elected MP and former cricketer Gautam Gambhir summed up India's victory in three words - "runs, rain and total domination". "Runs, Rain and total domination.. It's #7-0. Jai hind," Gautam Gambhir tweeted.
Senior BJP leader and former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj hailed India's splendid victory. "Congratulations to Team India on a splendid victory," she tweeted.
Former sports minister and BJP MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore hailed India's unbeaten record over Pakistan in World Cup. "What a clinical performance by #TeamIndia today against Pakistan. Superb team performance to ensure India remains unbeaten by Pakistan in the #WorldCup Fantastic innings by @ImRo45, @imVkohli followed by scintillating performance by our bowling unit. Keep Rocking," Rathore said on Twitter.
The Congress party also congratulated the Men in Blue for its stellar performance. "Congratulations team India for incomparable victory against Pakistan. You continuously made the country feel proud. Thank you!," a tweet from the party's official handle read.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his deputy Sachin Pilot also extended their wishes to team India. "Congratulations team India for this magnificent victory over Pakistan. You have given all Indians a moment of pride!," Gehlot posted on Twitter.
"Hearties congratulations to team India for keeping their invincible order against Pakistan and wishes for the matches ahead. We hope that you will bring honour to the country by winning the World Cup. We are proud of Team India," he tweeted in Hindi," Sachin Pilot tweeted.
