Mumbai, June 20 -- You can expect former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya to know the merits of practice. And though his first two performances on Jhalak Dikkhlaa Jaa 5 (Colors) were well-received, he's been rehearsing hard, even though he's back home in Colombo.
According to sources, Sanath has been practicing his dance moves with the help of his choreographer, and arrives in the city only a day before the shoot. Sanath confirms, saying, "I have been rehearsing back home because I have some work there which I can't manage if i stay here for three months at a stretch.
And I can't do injustice to the show I've taken up, because that's a new challenge and I want to do well." He adds, "The producers and my choreographer always make accommodations for me, and I can't thank them enough for that." The cricketer says he's not competing with anyone but himself on the show.
"Dancing is something I've barely done in my life. I've hardly danced at parties that were thrown when we won a series or a crucial match. I felt I needed to step out of my comfort zone, so I put on my dancing shoes," says Sanath, who is slowly becoming comfortable with the various dancing styles his choreographer is working with him on.
Would he accept another reality show, or a Bollywood movie offer even? "Ah, no way!" laughs Sanath. "This show is a one-off thing. And movies are a different ball game. I don't think I will ever be game for it."
