A seemingly innocent response to a tweet by Anand Mahindra, the executive chairman of the Mahindra Group, got the Internet riled up on Tuesday.
A Twitter user tagged Mahindra in a tweet and posted a video of Tollywood star Nandamuri Balakrishna lifting a Bolero with just one hand in a scene from his box office hit Jaisimha.
Mahindra, a regular on microblogging site, responded with a "witty" response saying how his service workshops don't need hydraulic lifts anymore to do Bolero check-ups.
Haha. Now all our service workshops won’t need any hydraulic lifts anymore to do Bolero check-ups!! https://t.co/WiS6hcpT2h— anand mahindra (@anandmahindra) January 16, 2018
However, the tweet didn't go down too well with the Balakrishna fans who got offended to a point that they began tweeting with the hashtags #BoycottMahindra and #BanMahindra.
One user even called the response from Mahindra a publicity stunt. Tch Tch.
Instead of reacting to some useless fans trolling.. Please concentrate on your useless service workshops and improve service to your customers...Don't degerade your post by involving yourself in these fans fights.. so pity on you 😂😂😂— nbk@myheart (@nbkmyheart3) January 16, 2018
People like you responding to an ideotic tweet is really shameful.— TG (@BALAYYA100) January 16, 2018
Sir I never expected such a big personality reacting to some movie trolls you lost your respect, BTW Balakrishna is not only hero and ,MLA, he runs cancer hospital which is in 2nd place in India and offers free treatment for poor
& creates awareness campaigns for breast cancer.— Premkumar (@premkumargajja) January 16, 2018

I thought you had a better job to do than responding to a stupid tweet from an unknown guy ? Did you ever respond to customer compliants about your products with same urgency ?— Ravi (@ravir9) January 16, 2018
He isn't attention seeker 'or' not building business model for the mahindra jeep so desperation (requested ) to improve sales of mahindra jeeps . This attention seekers always do stunts like THIS.

That is your current situation in the market ... I expected a CEO to read that instead of making fun of yourself !!... I would have felt bad for disrespecting the product ....But ur reaction is otherwise... Good luck.. pic.twitter.com/SKRu9sJON8— Rakesh Srinivas K (@srinivasrakesh2) January 16, 2018
Instead of spending your time on Twitter n silly things , try to spend your time with your family and business.. hope one day you don’t need to go to London to save your ....#anandmahindra— Yabburi (@yabburi) January 16, 2018
Didn’t u see the milk bottle under bolero. See positive and better u do some charity to provide milk for hungry kids with ur greedy earned currency. Ur staff is weak due to lack of appraisal cycles for years first make them buy bolero and then think of service stations.— shana (@nbr2nbk) January 17, 2018
While some just enjoyed the sh*t fest.
Oh, btw, a Mahindra Bolero weighs around 1600 kgs. Just saying.
