Interestingly, this is the second time that Delhi has been rated as the best airport. In 2017, Delhi airport had handled 6 crore passengers higher than Changi, Incheon and Bangkok airports. In fact, the report states that Delhi airport is the seventh busiest airport in Asia and is among the top 20 busiest airports across the world. Last year, Mumbai and Delhi airports beat Beijing Airport and Shanghai Pelang Airport, which came a joint second. Reportedly, IGIA is likely to undergo a three-phase expansion and will be able to handle 11 crore passengers annually by 2024-25.
