This year is 29th year of the festival where followers and lovers of Savakar come together and discuss the various aspects of his writings. Savarkar followers feel that his writings are still relevant.

In the inaugural speech, Amit Shah, who is also a staunch follower of Savakar, said, "Writings of Vinayak Savarkar had inspired youth in the past and in today's era. Savarkar's literature is enlightening youth and showing them a path."

Shah described Savarkar as multidimensional person.

He also took a dig at critics of Savakar. He criticised Congress for its leaders stand on Savarkar. He gave a suggestion to Congress leaders to read his writings as they have failed to understand a true patriot like Savarkar. "Indian people call Savakar as 'Veer' Savakar for this no resolution wasn't passed by any assembly or any govt. It came from people's heart." Shah said.

Remembering Savarkar as multidimensional person, Shah told the gathering about his contribution in the field of linguistics. He also said that Hindi-Marathi synonyms for English words like director, parliament etc were Savarkar's contribution. Shah urged the gathered crowed to spread his literature to as many as people they can, so that his thoughts can reached to those people who don't know Savarkar.

While Shiv Sena MLA and cabinet minister in Fadnavis govt Eknath Shinde requested Amit Shah to tell PM Modi to honour late Vinayak Savarkar with Bharat Ratan.
