Alia Bhatt To Play Sridevi’s Role In David Dhawan’s Remake Of Chalbaaz?
David Dhawan‘s last film, Judwaa 2, starring his own son, Varun Dhawan in the lead along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, was a huge success at the Box Office. And now reports indicate that the filmmaker is working on the Chaalbaaz remake, which had Sridevi essay a double role. There’s a buzz doing the rounds that senior Dhawan wants Alia Bhatt to play Sridevi’s part. He has reportedly already started working on the script. Lately during a media interaction, Alia was quoted as saying, “When I had gone to him, asking to be cast in the next installment of Judwaa, David sir told me ‘I have a better role for you in comparison to Judwaa 3’. The next time I told him about my wish again, he said ‘Not in Judwaa 3, you have to work with me in the Chaalbaaz remake’.”
It would definitely be interesting to see Alia play the role of the sweet and brash sisters in the remake of this iconic film. In fact, Sridevi in an earlier interview had one said that if there is one film of hers that must be remade it’s Chaalbaaz. She had also mentioned that Alia would be perfect for the role should a remake be made in the future. “And if it’s remade, the one actress who could fit in that double role of mine is Alia. She would fit the role perfectly. She is spontaneous and an extremely natural actor. She can look vulnerable, innocent and at the same time, she can be smart and mischievous too,” the beautiful actor had said. Well, looks like everyone has a consensus on Alia being the lead in the remake. Meanwhile, we’re all waiting for a confirmation from the actress. In the meantime, Alia is gearing up for her next release, which is Meghna Gulzar’s Raazi that has her essay the role of a Kashmiri girl who marries a Pakistani army officer to leak vital information to India. She will be seen starring opposite Vicky Kaushal in the film. The actress has also started reading the script of Zoya Akhtar’s next, Gully Boy, which will have her star opposite Ranveer Singh.
