Aishwarya Rai Bachchan – Shah Rukh Khan, Sidharth Malhotra – Sara Ali Khan : 5 Jodis We Wish To See In 2018
The year gone by (2017) has been quite a disappointing one as far as Bollywood is concerned. Mostly all big films except Tiger Zinda Hai failed to impress the audiences and critics alike. However, a lot of content driven small budget films have gone ahead and done well at the Box Office. We’re hoping that 2018 brings with it a slew of big or small films that not only fair well at the Box Office but also leave an ever lasting impression with its content. This year we have seen our fair share of never seen before jodis share screen space with each other. While 2018 too will have films with a few fresh jodis, our wishlist for the year to come also involves seeing some of our favourite stars share screen space with each other. Whether it’s Shah Rukh Khan–Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone–Sidharth Malhotra, Alia Bhatt–Aditya Roy Kapur — we want the filmmakers to cast them opposite each other in the year to come. Thus, as we ring in the New Year, with much pomp and fervour, here’s a list of five jodis we wish to see on screen in the year to come. Filmmakers, are you reading this?
# Deepika Padukone-Sidharth Malhotra
It’s time we get to witness some fresh faces on screen— pairs that will make us home we have a chemistry and an on-screen camaraderie like that. While the two haven’t worked on a film together yet, they have shot a commercial with each other, which has certainly got us excited. The commercial has certainly made us hopeful that somebody from the Indian film industry will come up with the idea of pairing the two in a passionate love story. What say?
# Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have shared screen space several times before. However, due to a brief fallout, we didn’t see them star opposite one another in films for a long time until Karan Johar did it in his hit film, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, albeit for a small sequence. Well, if anything that certainly made us eager to see them sizzle on screen once again with their wonderful chemistry. They have been spotted being cordial with each other several times in the recent past, making us believe that all is in fact well between the two. There are talks of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starring in the Raat Aur Din remake. While the makers are still contemplating who to star opposite her (with buzz doing the rounds that it could be Sanjay Dutt), we are hoping that they seriously consider Shah Rukh Khan for it. Don’t you agree?
# Sidharth Malhotra and Sara Ali Khan
Sidharth Malhotra and Sara Ali Khan grabbed all our attention at Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s Mumbai reception where they were seen bonding with each other. Could this be the start of a new friendship of Bollywood? Maybe. We all know how keen Karan Johar was on launching Sara. While that didn’t happen, it certainly doesn’t mean, it won’t happen in the coming future, especially with the way KJo has been bonding with the young diva at several occasions. At the same time, we all know that Sidharth is the filmmaker-producer’s blue eyed boy. Thus, a possibility of them being cast opposite each other under the Dharma Productions banner cannot be ruled out. Agree?
# Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur
Alia Bhatt is someone who has shared screen space with practically every male star from the newer generation —whether Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor. She will be starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Ayaan Mukerji’s Brahmastra and opposite Ranveer Singh in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. She is yet to feature in a film with Aditya Roy Kapur although Gauri Shinde’s Dear Zindagi gave us a brief glimpse of what it would be to see them together on screen. The duo were earlier reportedly approached to star in the Hindi remake of The Fault In Your Stars but nothing was confirmed in the end. Well, we’re certainly waiting for a director to cast them together in a film. They would look absolutely stunning, don’t you think?
# Ranveer Singh and Janhvi Kapoor
2018 will definitely have Janhvi Kapoor make her much awaited debut with Karan Johar’s Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. If the first look posters are anything to go by, the two young debutants are definitely showing us that they can act. Well, rumours are rife that Rohit Shetty is looking to cast Janhvi opposite Ranveer Singh in his upcoming film Simmba. Well, nothing has been confirmed yet, but we’re sure, they’ll make quite an interesting pair. Don’t you think?
