Mumbai, Aug. 21 -- A few months ago, Amitabh Bachchan spent Rs50 crore to purchase a sprawling bungalow behind his residence, Jalsa. Although this is the star family's fifth property in the Juhu-Vile Parle Development Scheme (JVPD) area, we've now been informed that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has bought another house in Worli.
"The flat is only an investment for Aishwarya, and she is very happy with her decision. In fact, on Monday (after attending a press conference), she went with her team to take a look at her new property," says an insider close to the actor.
The Bachchan daughter-in-law has apparently purchased the plush four-bedroom apartment for a reported sum of over Rs5 crore. The insider adds, "Right now, she isn't thinking of how to put her new purchase to use. Everyone, including her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, is aware of her decision and has extended their full support." While Aishwarya remained unavailable, her spokesperson refused to comment on the news.
Before moving to Juhu after marrying into the Bachchan family in 2007, the actor used to live in Bandra, in a building populated with several other film stars.
'Yes, talks are on'
A few weeks ago, we wrote about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan considering doing a special number in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next, Ram Leela. Although the filmmaker had denied the news, the actor has now gone on record saying that the two are in talks. "I should leave it to the respective people to make the announcements if there are any. When we arrive at the conclusion, there will be announcements. However, have we been in talks? Yes," says Aishwarya.
