Air India denies political pressure, says ban revoked only after Gaikwad apologised

GP Rao, General Manager of Air India Corporate Communication, on Friday denied any kind of political pressure on them to revoke the flight ban on Shiv Sena Member of Parliament (MP) Ravindra Gaikwad, saying the step was initiated only after the parliamentarian apologized. Rao said they received a letter from the Civil Aviation Ministry which stated that Gaikwad had written a letter to them, regretting the entire episode which took place. He further added that the ban was lifted with immediate effect after receiving the letter from the Aviation ministry.
