All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Director Randeep Guleria in a press conference said that the Mucormycosis or black fungus's main reason among the Covid patients is due to misuse of steroids in treatment. AIIMS chief also requested the hospitals to adhere to protocols of infection control practices as secondary infections. The AIIMS director while addressing the press conference, said, "As COVID-19 cases are increasing, it's of paramount importance that we follow protocols of infection control practices at hospitals. It has been seen that secondary infections -- fungal and bacterial -- are causing more mortality.
