MBA graduates collect protection money and handle social media pages for this gangster
The criminal gangs and gangsters active in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh have not only adopted modern means of communication to extort money and strike deals of arms and drug supplies but are also using cyber literacy and qualified henchmen.
Interrogation of the arrested gangster Dilpreet singh Daha alias Baba, his henchmen and two girlfriends have revealed that the gangster had employed MBA student to collect protected money and to update his Facebook page, and how the drug and extortion money was used to buy luxuries including a Nissan Terrano SUF for his girlfriend, sex tonic weapons and even drugs for own use.
Gangster's henchman Vipin Kumar, 30, who was arrested from Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh has made revelations about the Gangster Dilpreet Daha alias Baba and his style of functioning.
The accused Vipin Kumar holds MBA degree and was active in Himachal Pradesh. He was introduced to Dilpreet by a jailed criminal Guggu, who is currently lodged in a jail.
According to the highly placed police sources Vipin Kumar was given the task to collect the protection money from the Businessmen based in Himachal Pradesh and Punjab . He was also looking after the Facebook profile of Gangster Dilpreet Singh.
Vipin Kumar, who was arrested from Makhu Majra village of Nalagarh , Solan by the Special Operations Cell Punjab Police on Saturday has told the Police that he alongwith Harvinder Singh alias Happy had extorted Rs 6.50 lakhs as protection money from the local businessman who were threatened by Dilpreet Singh alias Baba.
Harvinder Singh alias Happy, 26, was arrested by the Punjab Police in April this year from Gullarwala village in Baddi after the Punjabi singer Parmish Verma was attacked by Dilpreet and other gangsters.
Vipin Kumar was instructed by Gangster Dilpreet Singh to claim the responsibility for attacking Punjabi singer Parmish Verma and his friend Kulwant on Facebook.
Gangster loved watching Hollywood thrillers
Arrested gangster Dilpreet has told the police that he and other gangsters loved watching Hollywood movies, crime thrillers in particular. They would follow the crime sequences while committing murders, issuing threats and demanding protection money.
Interestingly, Dilpreet also disguised frequently to confuse the police. He had pruned his beard and chut hair to confuse the police. He was keeping a set of artificial beard, which he would wore to do the Facebook lives.
While himself being a drug addict, Dilpreet would often speak against drugs on Facebook and asked the people to shun the habit.
Gangster dated two real sisters
Baba was dating two real sisters simultaneously. His first girlfriend Harpreet Kaur, 42, has told the police during her interrogation that Dilpreet was a drug addict and would often lose his cool. He would collapse after the drug overdoses. He had also recently attacked Harpreet Kaur in Navanshahar with a bullet but she had a narrow escape as the bullet hit the dressing table. He collapsed after attacking her and then was brought to a private hospital located in Phase 6, Mohali.He was later referred to PGI Chandigarh where his girlfriends concealed his real identity.
Dilpreet had physical relations with Harpreet Kaur and her younger sister Rupinder Kaur, 38. He had first met Harpreet in 2016 and later fell in love with Rupinder Kaur.While Harpreet is a widow, Rupinder is a divorcee. Harpreet had lost her husband nine years ago. Both have two children each.
Rupinder was working in Ludhiana four months before shifting to Mohali. Dilpreet had rented out a house by introoducing himself as Gagandeep Singh. Rupinder is a graduate and was doing business. Her elder sister Harpreet Kaur runs a boutique in Navanshahar. The gangster occasionally visited Navanshahar to meet Harpeet and had also introduced her to other gangsters.
Dilpreet had recently gifted a Nissan Terrano to Rupinder Kaur. He avoided visiting her during the day so a few people knew him. His pictures with Rupinder Kaur alias Ruby are viral on Social Media.
Police recovered drugs, weapons from gangster's girlfriends home
The Punjab police had recovered one pump action rifle, one pistol along with 40 cartridges, one kg heroine, one electronic weighting machine and one mobile phone from the Navanshahar house of Harpreet Kaur.
The police besides recovering recovering the SUV vehicle from gangsters girlfriend Rupinder Kaur's home also seized the gifted car besides some objectionable material . The police has also recovered 13 car number plates out of which 6 belong to Punjab, three Haryana, two each to Himachal and Maharashtra. The vehicle in which the Gangster was travelling when he was arrested by the Chandigarh and Punjab Police on July 9 was stolen from Narayangarh Haryana.
Meanwhile, Dilpreet during his interrogation has told the police that Punjab gangsters were not only involved in extortions but also in drugs and arms smuggling.
The Punjab police has formed three teams to establish the crimes including extortions, murders, drug smuggling and arms smuggling in which Dilpreet was involved. The police also wants to question the Punjabi singer Parmish Verma who allegedly paid protection money worth Rs 10 lakhs to gangster.
The gangster's girlfriends and henchman are currently on a Police remand. The gangster has also been sent to two day police remand. The police hopes that his interrogation would solve a number of cases.
