The Crime Branch has initiated the interrogation of AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran on the charges of bribing the Election Commission. Dinakaran landed in Delhi on Saturday afternoon.
Dinakaran has been handed over a questionnaire and is being interrogated by an ACP who is also the investigating officer in the case.
Sources have said that Dinakaran as well as Sukesh Chandrashekhar who is the middleman, has been made to sit in the same room.
The police, reportedly, have asked the lawyers to be away from the interrogation.
The questionnaire given to Dinakaran includes queries on money trail, his association with Sukesh. Dinakaran will be asked how many times he met Sukesh and if he met the EC officials.
After Dinakaran's questioning, the police will also interrogate Sukesh. Sources in the Delhi police have said after interrogation of Dinakaran, there could be a joint questioning with Dinakaran and Chandrashekhar.
After the arrest of middle man Sukesh, Dinakaran was summoned by the Delhi police. Officials went to Chennai on Wednesday to summon the leader who was brought to Delhi earlier today.
Delhi Police is trying to find the money trail in which about Rs 1.3 crore that was recovered from Chandrashekhar.
The police is also likely to probe the WhatsApp messages and phone calls of the two accused.
Incidentally, Dinakaran had refuted the allegations of bribery and also said that he did not know Sukesh. He also said that he will fully corporate with the Delhi Police.
