AIADMK mouthpiece sacks journalists for hinting at AIADMK-BJP alliance

Thirumalai, a columnist, and a sub-editor Paneerselvam were sacked from the paper for publishing the article without the due permission.

Two journalists were sacked from the AIADMK mouthpiece 'Namadhe Puratchi Thalaivi Amma' after a controversial article in it hinted on an alliance between the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP).

Thirumalai, a columnist, and a sub-editor Paneerselvam were sacked from the paper for publishing the article without the due permission.

The article appeared in the mouthpiece on Sunday and remained in the news on Sunday and on Monday. Namadhu Amma issued a clarification today saying that the two journalists responsible have been terminated from the company and that the article has created confusion in public minds.

The article also adds that AIDMK is not in a situation where it will seek or find allies for elections.

The article called the functioning of the BJP and AIDMK as a double gun barrel, keeping in mind the ethos of party founder Dr MGR who propogated for a cordial central state relationship for the welfare of state government. It also clarified that any decision on alliance will not be published in the paper. It will be decided by the party's high-level committee in a democratic manner.
