Its rareness makes it special and saffron has exceptional medicinal properties and is commonly used in cooking and traditional medicines. Kashmir saffron is exported worldwide. To acquire more prominence in the export market and to help farmers to get the best remunerative price, Advanced Research Station for Saffron at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir is working day and night. This research centre is equipped with all the modern facilities including high tech dripping system. Imported seeds is also playing vital role in producing high quality saffron. This high tech research centre is established by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir with the help of Centre under National Saffron Mission (NSM). Advanced Research Station for Saffron is working very well and authorities are trying to increase more facilities to help the saffron growers. The center also focuses on checking the quality of the soil and saffron seeds to improve the quality of the saffron. People also enjoy watching saffron flower when full moon shines upon the purple bloom and it becomes a sight to behold.
