New Delhi [India], April 3 (ANI): Slamming the move taken by the Enforcement Directorate to attach the properties of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, Himachal Pradesh Youth Congress chief Vikramaditya Singh on Monday asserted that the action which is being taken is nothing but a political plan.
"The action of Enforcement Directorate (ED) is not a surprising move for us. As the elections are nearing in Himachal Pradesh ED has increased its illegal activities. This action which is being taken is nothing but a political plan and we know how to handle it," said Singh.
Taking a jibe at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Singh further stated that the Enforcement Directorate is directly monitored by the former and has been reduced to political organisation.
"The ED particularly is directly monitored by Arun Jaitley and it seems to have been reduced to political organization. We have all the evidence and legalized way of transactions taken in purchase of this piece of asset. We will proof in court that nothing unlawful has happened in this transaction," Vikramaditya added.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had attached assets of Virbhadra Singh worth Rs. eight crores in a money laundering case.
A week ago, the Delhi High Court had refused to grant a stay on the proceedings initiated by the ED against him.
The Enforcement Directorate had last year registered a money laundering case against Virbhadra and others under provisions of Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after taking cognisance of a criminal complaint filed by the CBI in this regard. (ANI)
