Accidental blast in Paris Carnival leave 30 injured, hundreds flee in panic

People attending the carnival began to panic after the blast and according to reports, Martine Valleton, the Mayor of Villepinte was among those hurt by the explosion

Paris, Apr 2: An explosion in a crowded Paris Carnival has left at least 30 people injured on Saturday.The explosion is been reported to take place at the Yellow Carnival in Villepinte, Paris. The Paris Carnival attended by about 1,000 children on Saturday came into headlines after a powerful blast led to injuries to the people attending the carnival. As per the reports, five people have been severely injured in the explosion and the powerful blast is been described by the authorities as ‘accidental and not terror-related’.

The authorities have further added that the conditions of the people hurt by the explosion were not life-threatening. It is been reported that a fire started in the Yellow Carnival after a statue was set alight during a Caribbean dance event.

People attending the carnival began to panic after the blast and according to reports, Martine Valleton, the Mayor of Villepinte was among those hurt by the explosion. The mayor has been reported to hit in the right leg. Emergency services reached the spot after the blast.
