Maharashtra: Abu Salem uses phone inside jail, alleges NCP leader Dhananjay Munde, CM orders probe

Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde today alleged that gangster Abu Salem was using a mobile phone inside the jail premises.

Leader of Opposition Dhananjay Munde today alleged that gangster Abu Salem was using a mobile phone inside the jail premises. Munde also presented the cell phone allegedly confiscated from Salem.

Salem, who was extradited from Portugal, was recently convicted by a special TADA court in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case.

Attacking the law and order situation in the state, Munde alleged that there was a complete failure of law and order in the state.

"Normal convicts are not even allowed home cooked food. Here a gangster like Abu Salem, who is convicted in the 1993 serial bomb blasts is allowed to use mobile phones," Munde alleged, flashing the mobile handset allegedly confiscated from Salem in the Taloja jail.

Taking a note of allegations made by the Leader of Opposition, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has ordered a probe into the incident.
