On Saturday morning, the entire nation woke up to the news of Karan Johar becoming a dad to twins through surrogacy. The filmmaker took to Twitter to make the big announcement on Sunday and said that he is in a happy state now, with his two kids- Yash and Roohi with him.
While B-Town showered love on the newest daddy on the block and welcomed his two bundles of joy, Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi has mocked Johar for opting for surrogacy.
On Monday, Azmi asked, "Itne bade ho gaye, shaadi nahin kar sakte? Koi beemari hai toh adopt kar lo. Surrogacy ka kya naatak hai ye?"
Following in the footsteps of other Bollywood stars, Karan decided to opt for surrogacy to become a father. He wrote on Twitter, "I feel enoromously blessed to be a parent to these pieces of my heart who were welcomed into this world with the help of the marvels of the medical science."
He added, "This was an emotional yet well thought out decision which I have taken after considering all the responsibilities and duties that come with being a parent."
Karan has named his kids after his parents. According to reports, they were born in Mumbai's Masrani Hospital.
