New Delhi, Oct 13: The release of Rajesh Talwar and Nupur Talwar, parents of Aarushi Talwar, who was murdered in 2008 along with her domestic help Hemraj, may be delayed till Monday, say reports. The TV news channel quoted a lawyer as saying that even if the copy of the order is received, it will take time to complete formalities. If the formalities are not completed by 4.30 pm, the Talwars will not be able to walk out of jail today. With Saturday and Sunday being off days, the Talwar couple will then be released on Monday, October 16.
Rajesh and Nupur Talwar will be released from Dasna Jail after spending four years behind bars. From being convicted for their daughter and Hemraj’s murder in 2013, Rajesh and Nupur were acquitted in the case by Allahabad High Court on Thursday.
The Allahabad High Court on Thursday accepted the appeal of Rajesh and Nupur, acquitting them in the Aarushi-Hemraj murder case, adding that the Central Bureau of Investigation probe didn’t have enough evidence to prove the couple murdered their daughter and domestic help.
The division bench comprising Justices Bala Krishna Narain and Arvind Kumar Mishra said that neither the circumstances nor the evidence on record established a chain showing their involvement in the murders of Aarushi and Hemraj. It also directed the authorities concerned to release both the appellants forthwith.
