NEW DELHI: BJP’s LOK Sabha election tagline, ‘Abki Baar Modi Sarkar’ can be seen and heard everywhere on TV, radio and billboards.
But more heads have turned with the jokes and puns on the tagline going viral on social networking sites. Taking a cue from there, the Aam Aadmi Party has initiated a poster war against BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
One of the poster says that choosing Modi as prime minister would be inviting troubles. The poster uses the Hindi proverb ‘Aa Bail Mujhe Maar’ to finish the ‘Abki baar Modi sarkar’ tagline. The poster also has a cartoon of an angry buffalo on it.
AAP has come out with over a hundred and fifty such posters which have already gone viral on the social networking websites.
“Our volunteers are standing with the posters at 150 locations in the Capital. We are targeting metro stations and busy bus stands,” an AAP worker said.
The poster reads: ‘Bade Kharche Bade Prachar. Ye Kaise Dur Karenge Bharshtacharya. Abki Baar Modi Sarkar… Ye Bhul Kabi Mat Kerna Yaar.’
AAP has been questioning Modi and BJP over funding and has alleged that Modi has links with business tycoons who sponsored his election campaigns.
Further, AAP leaders alleged their volunteers are being stopped from distributing a particular pamphlet. “Modi supports these leaders who are behind attacks on migrants from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh in Maharashtra. Our volunteers were stopped from distributing pamphlets. Many of them were roughed up,” said AAP leader Ashish Talwar.
