AAP follows Yogi Adityanath's footsteps. Delhi to cancel holidays marking birth, death anniversaries

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia praised Yogi Adityanath's move to cancel 15 public holidays.

Taking a cue from what Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has done in Uttar Pradesh, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has decided to cancel public holidays marking the birth or death anniversaries of eminent personalities.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said he has issued instruction to the chief secretary to cancel holidays on birth or death anniversaries of eminent personalities.

The AAP leader was all praise for the Yogi Adityanath government in UP for cancelling 15 public holidays on birth or death anniversaries of eminent personalities.

"The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a good initiative in this matter. We should always be ready to learn from other states," he said.

Earlier in the week, UP had cancelled 15 public holidays, most of which were declared by the previous Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) governments for vote bank politics.
