New Delhi [India], Mar. 11 (ANI): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which looked forward to a repeat of its performance in Delhi, has faced embarrassment as it is fighting for the second spot in Punjab and has failed to open its account in Goa.
The AAP is leading on 25 seats in Punjab with Gurpreet Singh Ghughi leading from Batala constituency.
AAP's chief ministerial candidate for Goa, Elvis Gomes, is currently at the third position in Cuncolim.
In Punjab, the AAP contested on 112 seats and on five assembly seats the party entered into an alliance with Lok Insaf Party (LIP), led by the Bains brothers in Ludhiana.
The AAP in Goa is contesting on 36 out of 40 seats.
Two years ago, the AAP had scored a sensational victory in Delhi, decimating rivals Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led party also made its debut in the 2014 general elections, winning four seats in Punjab. (ANI)
