Ahmedabad, Nov 3 (PTI) Gujarat reported 954 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, raising its case tally to 1,75,633, the state health department said.
With six new deaths, the state's COVID-19 death toll rose to 3,734, it said.
Recoveries during the day again outnumbered new cases, with 1,197 patients getting discharged. The number of recovered cases in the state thus rose to 1,59,448.
With this, Gujarat has achieved a recovery rate of 90.78 per cent.
The health department said 52,739 tests were conducted for the virus in the last 24 hours, increasing the total number of samples tested so far to 62,10,550.
Surat reported198 new cases, followed by Ahmedabad with 166 and Vadodara with 108 cases.
Among other districts, Rajkot reported64 cases, Gandhinagar 42, Patan 40, Mehsana 39, Banaskantha 31, Jamnagar 30, Junagadh 23, Sabarkantha 21, Narmada 20, Amreli and Panchmahal 19 each, Bhavnagar 16, Bharuch 14, Surendranagar 13, Gir Somnath 12, Kheda 10.
Surat reported three COVID-19 deaths, Ahmedabad two and Mehsana one.
There are a total of 12,451 active cases in Gujarat, with 61 patients on ventilator, the health department said.
In the Union Territory of Daman, Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, the number of coronavirus cases recorded so far is 3,232, while the number of recovered cases is 3,200, officials said.
On Tuesday, no new infection was reported in the UT while two patients recovered.
