8,00,000 celebrate LGBTI pride on Brazil's Copacabana beach

Scores of people celebrated Brazil's 22nd LGBTI pride parade at the famous Copacabana beachfront on Sunday. As many as 8,00,000 people participated in the parade singing and dancing in support of the movement. The parade is organised by Grupo Arco-Iris de Cidadania, a non-governmental organisation that fights for equal rights to combat prejudice, intolerance, and hate. Brazilian drag queen Rose Divina, struck a serious note, saying, "We continue with the fight against prejudice and homophobia that's happening - and many crimes are happening."
