This apart, 53 other COVID-19 positive patients have also died due to comorbidities, he said.

The state has so far conducted over 80.23 lakh sample tests for COVID-19 including 22,277 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, as the Centre extended the timeline for vaccination of Health Care Workers (HCW) across the country till February 25, the Odisha government also has informed the authorities concerned to make arrangements accordingly.

Now, the authorities have got 10 more days to complete the whole process of covering 100 per cent HCW vaccination, the official said.

The second dose vaccination of HCWs, to be taken 28 days after the first dose, will commence from Monday.

Though the Congress has called a six-hour shutdown in the state on February 15 to protest against rising prices of petrol and diesel, officials are hopeful of carrying out the second dose of vaccination operation smoothly. PTI AAM NN NN
