58 new cases push Odisha's COVID-19 tally to 3,36,042

Bhubaneswar, Feb 12 (PTI) Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 3,36,042 on Friday as 58 more people tested positive for the infection, a health official said.

Fourteen of the state's 30 districts did not report any fresh case.

Sundergarh district reported the highest number of new cases at 10, followed by Khurda (seven) and Puri (six), he said.

Thirty-five new cases were reported in quarantine centres, while 23 infections were detected during contact tracing, the official said.

Odisha now has 799 active cases, while 3,33,280 people have recovered from the disease so far.

A total of 1,910 patients have succumbed to the infection so far, while 53 others have died due to comorbidities.

Odisha has so far tested over 79.79 lakh samples for COVID-19, including 23,395 on Thursday.

A total of 3.83 lakh health workers and frontline personnel have been vaccinated so far, he added. PTI AAM ACD ACD
