The voting for the three Municipal Corporations in New Delhi ended on Sunday with around 54% voter turnout. While addressing the media persons, State Election Commissioner, SK Srivastava gave details about the voting and said that East Delhi received around 55 percent voter turnout and North Delhi received a little over 54 percent while on the other hand South Delhi recorded only 50 percent voter turnout. During the voting, 18 Electronic Voting Machines were replaced because of battery or button related issues. The voting took place in 270 wards with over 2,500 candidates who were in the fray. More than 1.3 crore people were eligible to exercise their franchise.
