German automaker Mercedes-Benz has crossed the 50 million vehicle production landmark globally. The special 50 millionth car is the first unit of the all-new Maybach S-Class rolled out from the Factory 56 plant.
Currently, Mercedes-Benz is focused on the implementation of the electric mobility offensive in its global production network. Six new Mercedes-EQ models will be integrated into production operations by 2022.

"Fifty million vehicles produced is a significant milestone in the history of our company, and an exceptional achievement by the team," said Jorg Burzer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz AG, Production and Supply Chain.
"I would like to thank the colleagues in the plants around the world for their work and their commitment," he added.
Fact: Global production network contributing to meet the company's sustainability targets
Due to its focus on the implementation of electric mobility, Mercedes-Benz's global production network is greatly contributing to its sustainability targets. The batteries for the existing and upcoming EQ electric vehicles are supplied by a global battery production network with factories on three different continents.
State-of-the-art: Sindelfingen factory is company's most modern production facility
Maybach S-Class's first unit, rolling off the production line at Factor 56 in Sindelfingen, is the company's 50 millionth vehicle.
The flagship luxury sedan, along with the standard S-Class and some future EQS models, will be manufactured in Factory 56.
The high-tech production facility was opened in September 2020 and is the company's most modern automobile manufacturing unit.

Mercedes-Maybach S-Class sports a large chrome grille with vertical slats, sleek LED headlamps, 21-inch alloy wheels, and chrome-coated exhaust vents.
It has a spacious cabin with adjustable bucket seats, augmented reality navigation, MBUX infotainment system, and five screens.
The car runs on a 4.0-liter, V8 twin-turbocharged hybrid engine that makes 496hp/700Nm and is linked to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.
