The spring festival of colors is here! Holi is celebrated all over India with colors, water balloons, Dhol beats and of course bhang. Holi celebrates the victory of good over evil and the love of Radha - Krishna. This colorful festival where we let our inner craziness totally loose with all the music and colors, belongs to us and is unmatched by any other foreign festival. Foreign artists have been increasingly admiring and praising Indian traditions and culture. This reflects in their art forms too.
Here 5 Foreign Music Videos Inspired From Holi :
1) Fidelity - Regina Spektor
Regina Spektor’s Fedelity was released in 2006. The song predominantly has used shades of black and white in its frames and until the end there are no other colors on the screen. The scenes get vibrant and colorful as the actors start playing with colors just like how we celebrate Holi.
2) Hymn For The Weekend - Coldplay
Wasn’t it a proud moment for all the Indians when they saw Coldplay praising our culture in their 2015 music video Hymn For The Weekend? The festival of colors which was featured in the song has definitely added more charm to the video.
3) Take It Off - Kesha
“There’s a place downtown,
Where the freaks all come around.
It’s a hole in the wall.
It’s a dirty free for all”…
What made Kesha’s Take It off released in 2010 this wild and crazy was the colors that they played with on the screen.
4) Now - Paramore
Now by Paramore released in 2013 features war and chaos. You must be now wondering why a song of war is on this list. Watch the whole music video to figure that out. The song takes an interesting turn with the presence of colors.
