The pressure was mounting on the Proteas but then the experienced duo of AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis tried to rebuild the innings with a solid partnership.
They both stitched a 114-run partnership which was broken by the debutante Jasprit Bumrah when the Gujarati pacer knocked off the stumps of AB de Villiers and picked up his first ever Test wicket.

With Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli on the batting crease, even the world's best bowler would not want to bowl an over. But, Jasprit Bumrah bowled the first over of his IPL career to these batsmen and he even scalped the wicket of Virat Kohli as the RCB skipper was trapped leg before by Bumrah.
Bumrah then dismissed Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair in that innings and finished with figures of 3-32. However, Mumbai Indians failed to win that match as they fell short by two runs in the end.
