40 fresh cases push Nagaland's COVID-19 tally to 25,559

Kohima, Jul 5 (PTI) Nagaland's COVID-19 tally rose to 25,559 on Monday as 40 more people tested positive for the infection, a health bulletin said.

Eighty-one more people recovered from the disease, while no fresh fatality was registered for the second consecutive day in the second wave of the pandemic, it said.

Dimapur district recorded the highest number of new cases at 15, followed by Mokokchung (14) and Kohima and Peren (three each), the bulletin said.

The recovery rate among the coronavirus patients in the state has improved to 90.61 per cent, it said.

The state now has 1,192 active cases, while the death toll remains unchanged at 499, and 710 patients have migrated to other states so far.

Nagaland has tested over 2.32 lakh samples for COVID- 19, while over 5.36 lakh people have been inoculated to date.
